Darien Library Artist in Residence: Ben Larrabee

Darien fine art photographer Ben Larrabee is the current artist in residence at the Darien Library, and will be giving an artist's talk   called "Photographing the Nude" at the Darien Library Artistspace on Tuesday, March 18 from 10 am to noon.

His black and white portraits of his wife, Trudie, are intimate and beautiful.

From the Darien Library website: "Join fine art photographer Ben Larrabee in Darien Library’s Artistspace on the Second Level. Larrabee will discuss his evolution of photographing the nude. He will show images of his wife and muse, Trudie, as well as show examples of notable photographers including Imogen Cunningham, Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Weston and Harry Callahan using the Library's collection of photography books."

Larrabee is known for Moments of Grace®, his candid portraits of families and individuals. He earned a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design, studying under renowned photographer Harry Callahan, and an MFA at Yale University. He has exhibited extensively and his work is in numerous prestigious collections.
