Colin Burke will be giving an artist's talk on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 5:30 pm at the Whitney Library of the New Haven Museum. Burke will discuss Deliquescence, his site-specific, interactive, multi-media installation which was commissioned by Artspace New Haven, and researched during a residency there. It includes multitudinous feet of microfilm from the New York Times collection previously destined for the landfill. Its enveloped columns reference a pair of New Haven elm trees planted 300 years ago.

The New Haven Museum is located at 114 Whitney Avenue, New Haven, CT.

The installation is part of a multi-venue exhibit called Library Science that features work by 17 international and seven New Haven-area artists, and was curated by Rachel Gugelberger, Senior Curator at Exit Art, New York. Colin Burke is a multi-faceted visual artist who works in analog methods, including cyanotype photograms. He has also championed the camera obscura.
