Grace Scharr McEnaney’s “Journeys in Watercolor” will be at The Smithy Market & Loft Gallery, 10 Main St., New Preston, CT from January 11 through February 9, 2020

Grace Scharr McEnaney is a contemporary watercolor painter living and working in Connecticut. Her work ranges from representational depictions of stone structures, still life, and florals to more recently, imaginary abstract studies. Whether representational or expressionistic, in each of her paintings, Grace strives to reveal the powerful essence and energy found in all things. Prior to becoming a fine artist, she spent several decades working in both technical and garden illustration, industrial advertising, as well as book jacket design.

Grace has degrees from Fashion Institute of Technology, NY, University of Connecticut and The New York School of Interior Design. Since beginning to show her work in 2006, she has won awards in watercolor from The New Britain Museum of Amercan Art member's show, The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club and The Connecticut Watercolor Society, among others. She is a signature member of The Connecticut Watercolor Society and in 2013 became a juried artist signature member of Connecticut Women Artists. In November 2016, Grace earned artist signature status from The North East Watercolor Society. Grace is currently a watercolor instructor at The Wethersfield Academy for the Arts, Arts Escape, Southbury, CT and privately in Newtown, CT. She also sits on the Board of Directors of The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in New York.
