Friedman Gallery Pop-Up in Westport invites visitors to Bedford Square Open House on Thursday, May 9 from 6 pm - 8 pm. There will also be an opening for John Paul O’Grodnick’s work at Newton Roux Gallery, Savannah Bee Company will be featuring ceramic artist Rachel Press, and there will be music by Caravan on Church Lane in Westport.

Friedman was an avid photographer when he worked in the music business in the 60’s and 70’s as a manager and producer.   He had the opportunity to befriend, work with, and photograph, legendary musical artists including Janis Joplin, The Band, Kris Kristofferson, Rita Coolidge, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, James Cotton, Todd Rundgren & the Rolling Stones. Lost in storage, the negatives for these incredible photos of legendary musicians were discovered in Michael Friedman’s attic this past year.

Mark Savoia, Master Printmaker and co-owner of Still River Editions, is the printer of Michael Friedman’s photographs.
