WCSU's Visual & Performing Arts Center is hosting an opening gala on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 1:30 pm - 4 pm. The new, cutting-edge arts facility is located at the university's Westside Campus. It houses the art, theater and music departments of Western Connecticut State University and includes performance spaces and theaters, art studios, a darkroom, technology labs, a recording studio, classrooms and offices.
Catherine Vanaria, co-owner Connecticut Photographics and Still River Editions, who is an Assistant Professor of Art at Western Connecticut State University, was recently named Chair of the Art Department and extends the invitation to community to check out the offerings at the new facility.
According to the website, the gala "will feature the facility’s performance, exhibition and studio spaces being fully utilized by students, faculty and staff — creating a true “behind the scenes” look at the building in action."
The Westside Campus is located at 43 Lake Ave. Extension, Danbury, CT.
