"This third Aldrich Undercover, a much-anticipated and successful event for the Museum, will feature approximately 250 unique new works by Aldrich alumni artists, including the event co-chairs, Janine Antoni, Huma Bhabha, Mark Dion, Paul Ramirez Jonas, KAWS, Peggy Preheim, and Alyson Shotz. Each work, made especially for the event, will sell for just $300; it will be signed on the reverse with no identifying marks on the front, so it can be displayed anonymously during the sale. The identity of the artist who created each work will be revealed only after purchase.
In addition to a great party and secret art sale, the event will feature a silent auction of stunning limited-edition works by American artists Robert Indiana, Robert Cottingham, and KAWS."
Individual admission is $150, Patron Admission is $1000
The list of artists participating, plus more information about the event is here. Friends David Haislip, Ken Becker, and James Grashow are participating--will you be able to tell whose work is whose? If I were an artist participating, I would do something completely different from my normal style to throw people off... I wonder if that's the case... you'll have to find out after the "reveal".
The fundraising proceeds benefit the Aldrich's exhibition and education programs.
