Robert Kalman's series of photographs of interracial couples titled "No Difference Between Them" is on view at Soho Photo Gallery from February 8 through March 4, 2017. There is an opening reception with the artist on February 7 from 6 pm - 8 pm.

From Soho Photo Gallery's website:
“Robert Kalman’s extraordinary portraits of interracial couples in No Difference Between Them show us what love looks like. It’s not contrast but connection that he has captured. Kalman meets the shared gaze of each couple with warmth. And whether they hold onto each other or not, the couples look like they belong together. Kalman’s photographs witness their bond. 'No Difference Between Them' is an essential record of what human connection looks like. And Kalman has done it with great skill and clearly great love.” — Heidi W. Durrow

Soho Photo Gallery is located at 15 White St., New York, NY.

Muci Clemens, a painter and client of Still River Editions who lives in Madison, Connecticut is featured in the group exhibition "Interpretations of Nature: Paintings by Muci Clemens and  Wood Kinetic Sculpture by  Darlene Davis and Eduardo" at Gallery 14, Vero Beach Florida from February 1 through 24, 2017.

From the press release:
"This imaginative group of artists come together to give us both abstracted and realistic/impressionistic interpretations of our natural surroundings. The show will take place Tuesday February 1 through Friday February 24 with a reception on Friday February 3 from 5-8pm as part of the Downtown Gallery Stroll. Muci's work focuses on light, while employing a colorful palette that is influenced by the renewal of nature, travels and life around her. According to the artist, 'I create works that make me feel good, whether the pleasure of flowers on a summer day, the nostalgia of old machinery, or the character of a face. I like to think of my art as thought provoking, uplifting, and filled with memory triggers.'

Father and daughter team Darlene and Eduardo's lyrical dancing sculptures appeal to their artistic interests: 'Wood was very likely the first sculptural material used by man, and the spiral is an ancient art motif. The kinetic arm in our pieces is perfectly balanced on a single ball bearing, rotating with the grace of a ballerina. We find that the spirals, creating varying shapes, have a calming effect on people. As they slowly revolve, we are reminded that there is a continuum with a beginning, a middle and an end and a chance to begin again.'"

Gallery 14 is located at 1911 14th Avenue,  Vero Beach, Florida

"Figuratively" by Karen Bonnano at Art & Frame

© Karen Bonanno
Paintings by Karen Bonanno are featured in an exhibit called "Figuratively" at Art & Frame of Danbury from September 25 through November 5, 2016. Also on view are selected works of glass artist Heidrun Morgan. There is an opening reception on Saturday, October 1 from 5 pm - 7 pm, with music by Wendy Cahill and Daniel Patrick Higgins.

Karen says of her work in her artist's statement, "I am most interested in the figure, whether it be in an interior, exterior or an undefined atmospheric space. Through expressive mark making and color choice, the figure is formed and solidified in its environment. Not so much capturing a likeness of a particular person but rather a gesture and mood that contributes to the narrative of the painting. My main influences are the artists of the Bay Area Figurative movement including David Park, Richard Deibenkorn and Elmer Bischoff as well as Cezanne, Bonnard and Matisse."

Art & Frame of Danbury is located at 60 Newtown Rd, Danbury, CT. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Saturday 10 am - 6 pm.
